I am a senior at Central High School. I am hoping
to go to College and make a better living later on in the future. I've come
to the United States where I'm safe, free, and can pursue my education.
In the past month, I have learned
how to use the video camera. The workshop at Scribe
Video Center was wonderful and I liked it more than just regular classes.
This documentary is
very important in that I am from Sudan and me being able to flee because
of war to Kenya, America and now I am enjoying a new life is something special.
I want people who will watch it to know that life can change from bad to
better. |

With a video camera, I have learned a lot from students because we had some
discussions in class and they were able to tell me many things I didn't
know. I was able to make lots of friends who actually were interested in
being on national television and who were also interested in knowing who I
was and where I came from. I became well known by almost everyone in my
school. Being with a video camera, I have been able to get used to stating
and expressing my ideas more assertively without stumbling in front of many
people. This is definitely going to help me later on in the future. |
