hadja: see the eggplant? – this is pepper – this is okra

hadja: when i first came here my brother told me to lock the door – stay inside and watch tv – and i don’t like to watch tv

tiguida: you must be happy friday at least you can go to the mosque

hadja: when  i go to the mosque pray and i enjoy my time there

tiguida: you see all your friends

hadja: keep company and pray – that’s good for me - so i said let me make my small garden – it’s at least better than sitting and watching tv all day – watching tv all day  i can’t do that

tiguida: at least in africa you can go house to house, door to door  – see friends – but here

hadja: you’d be playing with your grandchildren

tiguida: when they come they don't even have time for you they trying to watch tv or do their homework – that's life in america

hadja: when i go to the mosque i am happy

tiguida: i just came to the mosque and said let me take my goodies

hadja: i will go get a plastic bag so that you can carry your vegetables

tiguida: this is wonderful – the garden – its something i want to do one day – garden, is wonderful

tiguida: wow, look at the baby okra - that reminds me of africa – my mother used to have a big one

hadja: i know
