endeavor. A third place winner at the Coming
Of Age short film contest sponsored by WHYY, United Way of Southeastern PA,
AARP and the Temple University Center for Intergenerational Learning.

Killing Taxi Drivers

The Philadelphia Taxi Association hastily organizes
a demonstration in August 2001 in immediate response to the shooting death
of an African immigrant taxi driver; the fourth taxi driver fatality since
the beginning of the year. Fellow African immigrant drivers express their
sadness, frustrations and appeal to the City of Philadelphia for protection
during a demonstration of over 1,000 drivers. A

youth who resettled in the Philadelphia area in late-2000. The youth gather
for the first time in a joyous social evening filled with music and dance.
Peter takes this occasion to share his views on the situation which forced
him to flee his home and his plans for a new life in Philadelphia.
