Nyankol Mathiang in Concert!

REEL VOICES and South Sudanese Association in Philadelphia welcome Nyankol Mathiang to her first concert in Philadelphia. Nyankol Mathiang is the premier music artist of Southern Sudan. She combines traditional Dinka styles with modern beats making her music readily accessible to fans of East African music. Click on the song titles to listen to short samples of Doot Ku Bai and Ngier Cieng Mith Tik, featured in her current CD release, Doot Ku Bai. This concert will be filmed for THE SURVIVORS, a REEL VOICES documentary on the adjustment of 3 Southern Sudanese young men to life in Philadelphia, a joint production with Philadelphia Public Television WYBE-TV for Independent Television Service, funded by Corporation for Public Broadcasting.
